Hey there — I’m Roger. As a retired woodshop teacher, Navy veteran, and lifelong do-it-yourselfer, I still believe in rolling up your sleeves, doing the job right, and leaving things better than you found ’em.

I grew up a military brat, moving base to base, seeing the world and learning the value of discipline, hard work, and freedom. After my service, I earned an education, and spent decades teaching young folks how to work with their hands and build something worth being proud of. These days, I spend more time in my home workshop — but I’ve still got the itch to teach, and that’s what this site is all about.

Roger’s DIY Workshop is my way of passing on what I’ve learned — to my kids, my grandkids, and maybe to you, too. I’m not a tech guy — my grandkids are helping me put this together — but I believe in using what works. If a website helps me share what I know, then by golly, we’re building one.
